Essential Oil Suggestions for Supporting the Topline-
A well developed and strong topline is the outcome of proper conditioning. The musculoskeletal system has many parts and pieces. It’s important to remember that there is muscle, bone, ligaments, tendons, and so much working together to keep a horse strong and sound. Essential oils or a natural horse liniment can help your equine fitness and care program.
Essential oils can help provide increased oxygen, frequency, and flow to the whole of the horse. For the focus of the musculoskeletal system I would utilize the following essential oils:
- An overall natural horse liniment such as Ortho Ease or Ortho Sport makes support convenient and effective while utilizing a long list of beneficial essential oils.
- For relaxation and more muscle support, I like to utilize Aroma Siez blend, Peppermint, Marjoram, Basil, Copaiba, or Stress Away.
- Bone or skeletal support – Valor or Valor II blend, Idaho Balsam Fir, or Wintergreen.
- Connective tissue support – Copaiba, Lemongrass, Marjoram, or Wintergreen.
I often will combine the use of essential oil singles or blends with a natural horse liniment.
